Pocomoke is a small town located on Maryland’s eastern shore. It is approximately 35 miles from the resort town of Ocean City, MD and about a 2.5-hour drive from the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. metropolitan areas. It has a population of about 4,160. Pocomoke is a quiet family-oriented community located on the coast of Maryland on the Delmarva Peninsula. The city rests against one of its greatest attributes, the banks of the Pocomoke River which is one of the top scenic rivers in America. Pocomoke has a family-oriented community and vibrant parks. Children can easily walk or ride their bikes to schools, boasting numerous state championship sports and after-school programs. The Pocomoke health council has identified physical inactivity as a potential goal for change.
